Healing

Healing

I have been  baptized for well over twenty years. I have read and heard read in Church stories of healing Miracles Jesus effected while he lived on earth.

Healing from disease and infirmities instantly curing those he touched.

I often reflect on these events with many questions.

I cannot tell anyone's story but my own.

I know that in my life God has covered me many a times, but healing instantly I cannot recall until now.

In my life right now I am going through the realization that I need a lot of miracles, finally admitting to God that I cannot do many things such as change my nature or resist alcohol. I decided that I would try to change my habits and found that I was not going to be able to resist or change on my own will.

I confessed to God that I could not handle alcohol on my own and that to change required His intervention. Because this experience is new to me that is be changed instantly from drinking to not, I did not expect this change.

I was not expecting a miracle when my church was having a healing services, where anyone wishing healing was to come to the alter which I did.  I went in faith.

I did not even mention alcohol, but rather said to the minister who asked what he should ask God for on my behalf, I answered "Ask God to remove anything which is offensive in me"

After services I would usually go to the liquor store and stock my shelves with alcohol, but strangely enough not that week end. Rather I went home without alcohol.

And have not bought any since that day.

I did not fight, I did not beg, I did not struggle, I asked in church that any offence in me be removed. God removed the desire to drink from me.

After what has been a habit for well over thirty five years easy is now gone. A miracle has occurred and to be honest I was not thinking it would ever occur. I was not looking forward to living a life struggling with this addiction. it was over my head. Now that I am living out this miracle I am very glad that I do not drink anymore. No more drunken evenings. No more costs of drinking my hard earned money away. No more dizzy days or evenings.

Its like a new lease on life. I am free, free indeed.

John 8:31-36 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." They answered him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?" Jesus replied,

"Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
